9th April 2009

I am still unable to walk more than a few yards without a great deal of pain in both knees. However I have just uploaded some pictures sent into me from a walk in the Lower Kentmere valley.
The pictures, for those wishing to view are located in the "Visions of Cumbria" section of the website.
Regards,
Dave

Hello Dave,

I am sorry to hear you are still unable to walk .... I do hope you will be better soon.
Thank you very much for Kentmere photos!

Here is a collage I made from several photos taken by SPUDMONKEY on 7 April in Kentmere. The link to his Kentmere album is http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/spudmonky/KENTMEREDEDICATEDTOEWAASPECIALPLACEFORHER#

After 3 weeks of moping around the house feeling sorry for myself yesterday I
gave myself the proverbial "kick up the backside" and decided to see just how
much my knees would do. We drove first to Coniston for a short walk along the
shore and through the village before going to Fell Foot park at the foot of
Windermere on the return home.
We didn't walk much more than a couple of miles and I'm feeling it this morning
in my right knee but it was great to get out.
There are a few pictures in the "Visions of Cumbria" section for those who may
wish to view.
I haven't posted lately because the RA as now got into my wrists and fingers
which make keyboard work painful but I have been viewing all the wonderful
pictures from members.

Not really. RA is a malfunction of the Immune System and the weather doesn't seem to have any effect. When joints are swollen and painful heat can help in some cases and in others cold helps.
Just a case of "suck it & see"

Many thanks Dave. It's still far to early to say how things will develop but keeping fingers crossed.

On Monday afternoon we had a drive around the Arnside and Silverdale area. The weather wasn't as bright as I would have wished but it did stay fine. We had a couple of short walks in two of the woods but the wild garlic seemed to have blocked the bluebells out. On the way home we stopped off at the old quarry on Warton Crag and saw what to me appeared to be a Red Cowslip.
Pictures are located in the "Visions of Cumbria" section.

On the 7th of May we had a trip out in the car and a few short walks. The outward leg took us over Shap on the A6 to Askham. From there we made our way to Pooley Bridge for some lunch.
The pictures from this trip are now available to view for those who wish to see. They are located in the "Visions of Cumbria" section of the website.

Firstly many apologies for those of you that signed in yesterday expecting my usual Wednesday update. Problems with my hosting company meant I was unable to update.
Anyway....I have just updated the website the pictures from our car tour. These are from the return leg taking in Ullswater and Hartsop. They are located in the "Visions of Cumbria" section of the website.

Dave
