Ben Nevis fall leaves climber dead



Police received a report that someone had fallen on Tower Ridge

A man has died after falling on the UK's highest mountain, police have confirmed.
Northern Constabulary said it had received a report at 11:00 of a person falling at Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis.

Sad New on the Mountains again and as before in Scotland..

Is it so sad that someone died doing something they loved ?


Assuming he knew the risks and accepted them - as would any sane normal person undertaking a risky activity in less than favourable conditions - then it was his free choice.


I'm sure he'd have preferred to return safely, and no doubt any surviving relatives feel the same way.
