Map for tallest peaks
« on: 21:46:12, 04/09/17 »
I will be visiting next month looking to climb scaffel pile, skiddaw and helvellyn . Investigating the OS maps however, it appears to me that they're all on a different map (please correct me if I'm wrong I had a bit of a nightmare trying to work out what was where). Does anyone know if a map or guide book that covers all 3? I'm only visiting for 3 days and seems a bit much to buy 3 maps, though obviously I will if that's the only option.

Try using your local library.  I often borrow books and maps from mine but ideally try and reserve the ones you want in advance.

This map:

https://dash4it.co.uk/aa-walker-s-map-central-lake-district.html

which is published by the AA but contains OS 1:25k mapping has all three peaks on it.

I think it's the perfect single map for the Lakes unless you want to visit the fringes of the National Park.

The area covered shown here:
