Mini TR What we got up to in Oct 16
« on: 19:51:15, 05/09/17 »
I've not had much time to do trip reports but here is another catch up from last October. The highlight was Beefy completing his second round of Wainwrights  O0

We had a wild camp in Calf cove below Great End, although we hadn't planned to pitch here, the heavens opened and the weather got a lot worse so we got the tent up for shelter and stayed there. We had walked from Stonethwaite up the Langstrath Valley.

There was a lot of water in Langstrath Beck

We ascended by Angletarn Gill

Looking back at the Langdale Pikes from our way up to Esk Hause

The view from our pitch

Next day was glorious, we went over Scafell Pike, this shot from Broad Crag

Beefy on Scafell Pike summit

Great Gable and Styhead Tarn from near Lingmell top

Beefy on Lingmell summit his 214 x 2, congratulations!

Looking into Piers Gill

Our next wild camp was on High Raise. We started from New Dungeon Ghyll and went up the Mark Gate route toward Loft Crag

Crinkle Crags and the head of Great Langdale

Beefy on Loft Crag

Watching climbers on Gimmer Crag from Pike O'Stickle

The view east from Harrison Stickle

We went over Thunacar Knott and up to High Raise

High Raise summit

The Drift on High Raise

The sunrise from High Raise

We walked down to Grasmere via Sergeant Man and Tarn Crag
Langdale Pikes from Tarn Crag

Over Gibson Knott and Steel Fell to Helvellyn

Our next camp was on White Pike near Walna Scar summit, it was windy overnight!

The Drift on White Pike with the Scafells behind

The waterfall in Banishead Quarry next day

It was a glorious day, looking back at Dow Crag and The Old Man near Torver

Next up was a camp on Whiteless Breast, on Whiteless Pike. Not where we'd planned to pitch but the weather was pretty grim so we pitched early.

The Drift with Knott Rigg in view

Next day we went over Rannerdale Knotts

Moody Buttermere

Not in the Lakes this is in Northumberland. We went to see Crammel Linn near Gilsland on a day walk

It rained most of the day  :(

Stunning scenery and great pictures as usual April, well done  O0

Is Beefy showing his age using a walking pole  ;D  Can't remember seeing him use a pole before!

Lovely photos, belated congratulations to Beefy.
Gimmer Crag looks like you are leaning right out over the edge.

Great photos as always - just make me want to get out there NOW! Several favourites - but perhaps Gimmer Crag tops it for me.

Not only are you amazing at travelling around the Lake District, you have also mastered time travel ...  ;)  - respect!!!

Edited to add: you rectified the date while I was posting! Also to say Piers Gill looks as impressive as ever.

Wow, those pictures are beautiful, April!  O0 O0  I especially like the one of the Langdale Pikes and the one looking into Piers Gill but they're all fantastic.  :)
