Title: VR - A Fairfield Horseshoe walk (anti-clockwise)
Post by: bricam2096 on 12:56:48, 06/03/19
On my long weekend in Ambleside I took advantage of the lovely unseasonable weather to walk the Fairfield Horseshoe, one of my favourite walks. I've walked it a few times but this time I decided to walk it anti-clockwise to get different scenery and to see if I preferred it that way (can't really say that I prefer walking it that way or clockwise)

Anyway, did a video of the walk which you can see here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMUyN29-erc

I also videoed the next 2 walks but recorded them in 4k mode to see what they would look like. Unfortunatley, my cheap and free editing software (windows movie maker) doesn't seem to support 4k so I'll have to look for suitable and cheap software  :-[

I enjoyed your vid very much Bricam  O0 I will try to watch your other one at lunchtime  :)

Anti-clockwise is the correct direction to do the Fairfield Horseshoe  ;)

Thanks for the comments.  O0

Out of interest, why do people prefer the Anti-clockwise option? I can't really say I had a preference as going up meant having that wall to the left of me a long part of the journey which also means lack of views (on the plus side though it's a good shelter from the wind/rain/snow).

My views on the way down were a bit on the hazy side when I did it, sadly but at the bottom, it's a lovely walk through Rydal Estate back to Ambleside just to unwind your legs after the Nab Scar descent and steps.

It's a good walk in any direction  O0

Lovely video of a fabulous walk.
I don't think your editing software is that bad - it did a great job of removing people from the footage  :D   It makes it look as if you had the place to yourself.
