It happens to me twice every year...and I'm almost rugby-tackled.

Nice photos Lee :)   I was out walking with a group yesterday and part of our route took us through Chatsworth Park.  It was soooo busy, even though the weather was fairly drab and misty.
Much prefer walking in that area during the week!

I had large parts of the garden all to myself before the coach parties started arriving.

Nice write up and pictures Lee  O0

You're not the only one who's affected by the clocks changing.  It takes me a week or so to adjust and it totally baffles the cat  ;D

Very nice Lee, I enjoyed that.
I have a shameful admission - it was only this September that we visited Chatsworth for the first time !
Mrs I has wanted to go for a long time and we've just never got round to it. Glad we did and we'll certainly be going back again.
We almost had to be kicked out as the closing time had been & gone and we eventually saw a chap starting to lock things up, luckily he held off until Mrs I paid a call  :-[
I particularly liked the opening & closing globe/flower head fountain in one of the smaller/upper ponds - all controlled by water flow (it could have kept me amused for hours).
Noticed the family crest/emblem is very similar to that at Holker Hall near Cartmel, it seems the two families are inter-linked.
Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.

Hello Innominate Man. The water feature you've described is called Revelation and is one of my favourite parts of the garden too. All the water features at Chatsworth are powered merely by the pressure of the water as it drops from reservoirs in the woods above the house. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit, I've got a season ticket and have been a regular visitor this year.
