TR - The Carneddau
« on: 20:13:47, 18/03/19 »
Last month, we used two cars to walk the length of the Carneddau; from Aber Falls to Ogwen. While the forecast was fairly poor, we actually ended up with a decent morning. The afternoon was a different story, however. Strong wind and rain really made this a day of two halves

Good one Dave and a brilliant day by the looks  O0  I’ve been up Dafydd, Llewelyn and Pen y Ole Wen but not the others yet, all on the list.
Touching from a distance, further all the time.

Looks like you had an adventure there Dave. It's been a while since I visited the Carneddau. It has a very remote and wild feel to the place, and your photos captured that nicely   O0

looks grand !Those last two with the cloud/mist, I like. When it is like that it does cut the views down but can create some nice photo ops` none the less..
A night under silnylon. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

You're not wrong! The mist can certainly add an eerie quality to the mountains

An excellent traverse route. The Carneddau can be really wild, the mist gave some atmospheric pictures there.  O0

Just as Dave says, 'twas a real day of two halves. It was unexpectedly sunny all morning with great views but the afternoon was a 'mare with increasingly strong gusty winds and the cloud down. I found the last hour or two really arduous  to be honest.
Great photos, Dave - thanks.
