A lovely varied walk near Silverdale, just north of Lancaster. Limestone pavement, scrubby woodland, small fields enclosed by dry stone walls, more woodland, parkland, Leighton Moss bird reserve, Gloucester Black Spot pigs, a peaceful tarn (Hawes Water), coppiced woodland. Fantastic views across to the Lakeland hills. 6 delightful miles on a crisp frosty morning in an often overlooked corner.
Lovely area.

Just back from an enchanting walk up Hampsfell in the moonlight.

The road my son lives in runs down to the Red Wood Forest at Rotorua.  It is a great place for a walk and a much bigger than you would think.  The Blue Lake also has a good walk round it that Mrs G will enjoy.  The book says do it clockwise but the going is easier t'other way about.  While you are there, try the luge rides from the top of the Sky Line gondola just N of Rotorua.
We took a look at the blue lake walk. Too many power boats. We carried on down that road past the burried village and had a nice strole along the banks of lakeTarawera. O0

I had a lovely walk in the sunshine yesterday, up to Windgather Rocks, then along the top of Taxal Moor, returning to the car via a bit of the Midshires Way.
A bit chilly but great to be out in decent weather for a change! 8)

Mrs G and I walked 11 miles from our B&B into and around Auckland yesterday what a lovely city, we especially enjoyed the winter gardens.  Then finished off the day with a swim.   Homeward bound now. We are in Singapore again right now enjoying one final stop over.

Back home in Cornwall once more.  So walked several of my favourite local tors on Bodmin moor today.  What a lovely day in was.  I was sweating in just my base layer.

Gorgeous day here in cumbria - heading up the kentmere hills shortly.

Didn't stay gorgeous for long. Yoke, Ill Bell and Froswick plastered with snow - and cloud, unfortunately. Got away late because some friends came around, and didn't get back to the car until 1730, last hour coming down Garburn Pass by headtorch. Bit of an epic day; knackered now!

edit - not surprised - 12 miles, some of which in snow.

Six miles round Hull today whilst I was waiting for my car to have its MOT and service.

SIX BLUDDI MILES.  Good grief, I should do a trip report  :D

Got my Christmas shopping finished though  :)

And no pain whatsoever from my achilles tendon after all that pavement-pounding  O0

The descent down from the Garburn Pass to Kentmere is on our never again list  :D

I hope you do a trip report, looks like a bit of an epic in snowy conditions  :)

Don't think that I want to do it in the dark again, that's for sure! It was pitch black and the track was pretty gnarly, and at the back of my mind I was thinking "If my headtorch fails, I'm really in the ####".

I'm intending to do a TR, but conditions not the best for photography.
