I picked beefy up from Manchester on Friday 3rd July we had 10 days of walking planned. I won't do trip reports for all the local walks we did but here is the first from the Lake District.
We drove to Loweswater to do a Wainwright for Squeaky, Fellbarrow. We parked in the layby near the phone box and took the right of way by Askhill that joins the Mosser Road

On the Mosser Road
It was sunny but very blustery. I spotted cattle on the fellside on the usual route we do up Fellbarrow from the Mosser Road. If only we knew how they would react to Squeaky but we didn't so we walked up this lane to avoid them.
The waterlogged lane
I've never been up this way so it made a change. There was a bit of water on the lane but it was mostly avoidable.
Looking back at the lane
The track disappeared and we followed a bit of a trod here and there.
Making our way up the fellside by Sourfoot Fell
We reached the wall below Sourfoot Fell and turned left toward Fellbarrow
Sourfoot Fell from the way up Fellbarrow
Whiteside and Grasmoor
We had some smashing views although it had clouded over a bit

The fence leading the way from Fellbarrow
We retraced our steps back down the fell this time on the other side of the fence.
On the way to Low Fell
It was very windy and cold with it when the sun went behind the cloud

Looking back to the col between Darling Fell and Low Fell
We had wanted to have a break for lunch on Low Fell but it was too windy so we dropped down to the col and found a flat spot out of the wind to have a break and the sun came out too. We followed the path down by the old quarry.
Mellbreak and Hen Comb from the descent

We reached the Mosser Road and had to climb up it to Askhill, then back to the car.
On the way down by Askhill
Always a lovely walk this one. Our route was Loweswater Layby - Askhill - Mosser Road - Fellbarrow - Low Fell - Crabtree Beck - Loweswater. 6 miles with 436m ascent.
