Those of us looking for a pair of winter boots, could grab a serious bargain in Bettws Y Coed Rock Bottom.
Upstairs are ten pairs of unused Scarpa boots of various design, that for some reason they cannot sell, there is nothing wrong with them, other than their a few years old.
Some of the boxes are a bit tatty due to storage, and either they were ordered by a customer who failed to collect them, or their stock from their branch up the road,
Most of them are full Scottish winter boots, totally unsuited to summer wear, and their all well under £100 a pair.
The biggest bargains, and way off the scale for your average Uk walker, are two pairs of unused high altitude Pebax shell boots, one a Scarpa Vega size 46 the other by Koflach, £80 each.
Limited use maybe, but a similar boot in design and application in their Cotswold shop up the road retails at well over £400, and the fact that they have them in stock, must mean they must sell them at that inflated price.
