isle of arran coastal way
« on: 21:08:25, 13/09/20 »
hi has anyone done this walk? how is the terrain? im just wondering why www.scotlandsgreattrails.com [nofollow] has the coastal walk as being longer number of days compared to WHW when the kilometers and ascent is significantly less
i would have thought the arran walk would be more like 4-6 days i was thinking i could do this in 4 and a half if i do about 25kms a day
west highland way-Distance 154 (km) ascent 3155m days 5-8
arran coastal way-Distance107 (km) ascent  390m    days  6-8

Have a look at the Walkhighlands site - covers it in more detail.

Whitstabledave did a virtual circuit of Arran on his treadmill. His report with pictures is here http://www.walkingforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=40324.0

Ruth Livingstone, as an addition to her coastal walk around the mainland, spent some time walking round Arran. Here's a link to the relevant section of her blog
