I've no idea about the writing Mike! Maybe it's a setting on my new phone that flips the picture? I'll look into fixing that.

Edit: Found the setting on my phone, it was set to not to flip selfie lens images by default, when in fact you want to flip them. Selfie now flipped  O0

Thanks Mel for the info about the concrete block, I admit it didn't occur to me that the gate might move vertically so I didn't attempt to lift it over the block. It was almost flush against the gate and the gates latch wasn't broken, maybe someone moves the block to rest the gate on when they open the gate?
