Covers for dogs paws
« on: 16:03:27, 17/01/20 »
Whilst I haven't got a dog I have seen walkers on long multiday walks who take their dogs and the dogs have coverings for their paws.  Talking with someone today I mentioned this to them and they are interested in getting some.  Whilst they could Google for options it would perhaps be better if someone could recommend an item and I'll pass this onto them. Thanks

On Youtube there's a guy who walks with a dog. On his videos on the Cape Wrath Trail his dog is wearing some sort of covers. You could ask him in his comments what these covers are.  The channel is Hounds of Howgate.

If they don't comment on this thread it may be worth messaging April or Beefy who I think had some for Squeaky though I don't think I've seen her in them so perhaps she didn't get on with them. Also mananddog had some at one time.

This website might be worth a read. They've been mentioned a few times on here before.

You better tell your friends to start saving up as they're not cheap but they do have Vibram soles!  :o ;D ;D ;D

There's also plenty of videos on YouTube like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKAQOrsla2c

Thanks for the suggestions, I had better tell them when they are sitting down in view of the cost but I must admit that they are far more professional than I was expecting.

I bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals for less recently. I have 2 dogs = 8 feet, so an expensive purchase.

Covers for dogs paws wtf ??
How about invisible cr*p spray or self strangulating leads for those times when your to busy yapping to your m8 & dont notice the passer by getting their legs attacked..

No, I've seen them in use on the hill, Strawy. I could see them being useful in the snow, or on sharp scree.

Not needed for our springer spaniel though - she's never had any bother with her paws.

We call them "dog martens"  ;D

I bought squeaky some, i think they were £30, but they are only held on with velcro, so with whippets having such small paws, they slip off easily, I've not got around to finding a better way of keeping them on her paws yet

Was that the first time Squeaky had them on, doesn't look too happy with them!

Think my devil dog would chew her own legs off trying to remove them!
