Nice pics and video, O0
Good idea using the snow to block the windchill entering the tent,
I think I would have preferred a solid inner 8)
Must have been really wet in there, with no air flow :-\
The scarp looks good having a mixed inner,

:) I don't have an issue Cuben, it is mesh inners or hybrid/single skin tents that we wouldn't want to use.
The cost of Cuben is a barrier for most people, too much money for us to try it, we might not get on with it!

Nice pics Pete, nice to see someone actually using their gear and pushing it to its limits  O0 I agree with Beefy about the solid inner, it makes a huge difference in cold conditions.

A solid inner might be nice at times but be very hard to find now . As for wet I was dry all night . Shelter and inner were both still dry in the morning too  I’d agree a solid inner would be a little warmer but won’t make much difference,if I’m honest ...when you set off you never know if it will be -2 or -10 at night anyways....ta for comments. I did try copy and pasting the TR from my blog but it wouldn’t paste with the pics. Hence me just putting link up .. I’ll have a ratch later and post another up tonight

Noted, Rajboy, although I don't think that anyone is questioning the toughness of cuben.

I also note that Peter's tent has an inner, albeit a mesh one, and that he acknowledges that a solid inner would be "a little warmer".

Enjoyed the read and the pictures, Peter; real winter conditions!

What are the two tents used?

Thanks Peter. :)

edit -    I like the look of the Scarp 1; a bit like the Terra Nova Southern Cross, but perhaps a bit more versatile.
