Morning all,

Subject pretty much says it all. Going to have a go at the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on the 1st of October and there seems to be some dispute over the best places to start and stop. Any suggestions from you wise folks gratefully received.

Thanks!

You won't go far wrong by following Peter's preferred route and advice given in this earlier thread http://www.walkingforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=34739

There is, of course, the official route (https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/yorkshire-three-peaks-challenge/route). For independent walkers, it starts and finishes at the factory clock in the Pen-y-Ghent cafe in Horton-in-Ribblesdale (http://www.threepeakschallenge.com/clocking_in.html).

Thanks for that, as ever there is some dispute over which way is "best" - what ever that means!

There's a lot of work been done to this route recently. New paths have been laid and there's a lot of signposting now. If you start at any of the road cossing points; ie, Ribblehead, The Hill Inn near Chapel Le dale, or Horton itself, the route is rarely in doubt.
