sleeping mats
« on: 16:49:32, 15/10/18 »

Must be getting old. After my last trip along the Pennine Way I found myself bottoming out on my Thermorest Prolite. So I'm in the market for something thicker for a side sleeper plus quiet as I'm a light sleeper(hence eliminating neo air). Also want insulation not just airmat.
 My thought are:
1. Exped Synmat UL Lite M Regular
2. Sea to Summit Ultralight insulated
3. Big Agnes Q Core.

Wondering what experience about these mats are in terms of reliability, comfort etc for extended trips- my trust Thermorest never once sprang a leak or let me down.

I have the Synmat UL, in the LW format and I likenit. It's as comfy as any I have tried and my have back problems so it needs to be good or I don't sleep

I find it a bit chilly when temps drop below about 5c. I had to add dabs of Seamseal to make it more grippy as it was slippery with the tent.floor and silky sleeping bag.

Overall I'm happy with it and would buy again
