TR Derwent Water from Keswick Sat 25 Jul 20
« on: 18:39:24, 27/07/20 »
The weather looked grim for the weekend so no wild camping for us. We parked near Fitz Park and let Squeaky have a run in the park before we walked to Hope Park. After looking at the birds in the bird hide we enjoyed looking at the flowers.

There are some wild flowers again, we spotted 2 lots, this is the first in close up

The second lot of wild flowers

Close up of the wild flowers

It was raining

More of the lovely flowers in Hope Park

We walked to Derwent Water and along the shore path. It was deserted and we had a peaceful walk along the shore path.

Claggy view of Catbells

On the new path to Ings

The last time I was here this part of the path was closed and this is what they were doing. We walked as far as Cat Gill and had some lunch. The weather had improved a little and the cloud began to lift off the fells. We walked back toward Keswick.

Causey Pike seen now

This launch was almost empty but we'd seen a few more with more people on.

Castle Crag beyond the Millenium Stone

Catbells now free of cloud

Along with the better weather there were a lot more people about.

We let Squeaky have another run about in Fitz Park and we spotted a heron on the river

Our walk was 5.6 miles with 84m of ascent.

No photos from Sunday; we did a walk in Gelt Woods and went to Haltwhistle Burn to see the magic tree and I didnt bother with my camera, 5.4 miles and 220m of ascent.

The weather looks a bit grim. Lovely atmospheric photo of claggy Cat Bells but probably not that lovely if you were there.

Weather was pretty vile, wasn't it. Nice photos of the wild flowers though, and I do like to see raindrops on Alchemilla Mollis leaves.

The weather looks a bit grim.

We have seen it much worse  ;)

Love the heron shot,  :)

It stood still for so long I had plenty of time to take it  :)

Was going to do Bowfell on Sunday but sacked it off after doing  Rosset Pike

Well done for at least doing one fell  :)

I think seeing flowers is one of the joys of walking

It is indeed  :)

See you get a better shot of the heron than beefy would have  ;D

He didn't bother, his camera is better than mine so I reckon his would have been better  :)

I do like to see raindrops on Alchemilla Mollis leaves.

Thank you, now I know what they were  O0

Love the wild flowers, always a joy to see.

They are. Hope Park has a fab stock of flowers and plants, always something to look at all year round  O0

That looks a lovely low level walk April, and nice photo's despite the clag  O0

We have a cottage booked in or very close to Keswick for mid October. I may try picking your brains for similar walks nearer the time  :)
