Title: Hello from S. Wales
Post by: Mark101 on 21:25:29, 01/12/19
Hello everyone,

I live in South Wales, I'm new to walking but I've always enjoyed the outdoors, ex surfer, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching etc.

I work in IT and think I'd benefit from some time in nature, so I bought the OS Map app on the Black Friday deal and googled this forum. Also, went for a short stroll on Margam mountain this afternoon.

So, Hello.

Mark (Bridgend)

Welcome from Portsmouth. I caught the train to Abergavenny last year and after spending some hours in the town I followed the Beacons Way out of the town and camped on a very nice site in their small pear orchard. The next morning I hiked up and over Ysgyryd Fawr on a blistering hot day until I reached the Offas Dyke walk and then turned east and hiked to Chepstow. Really good, especially Monmouth, great food at the Italian Restaurant there.

Mark, welcome from Aberdeenshire. My wife has family in the Bridgend area (incomes from England many years ago). You have some great walking in South Wales.
