Recently especially after the changes re travelling to excercise, the Mountain Rescue organisation are trying to drum home their message to keep off the hills. They remind us all that their services are provided by volunteers. They encourage walking and cycling as excercise but discourage people going onto the more remote and higher ground. The reasons are obvious. Most will and have taken heed, however there will also be those that take no notice and I have been dismayed by some facebook posts, proudly showing where they have been with photo's of summit cairns etc. Some by those who should really know better too, including a few members of the Mountain Rescue Teams with family members, themselves. This is an example of that mysterious notion that some people seem to think the rules apply to everyone except themsleves.
