And another PW record attempt
« on: 11:25:52, 22/07/20 »
Damien Hall has just started a N to S attempt on the record. Although I read that he is collecting litter on the way so I would have thought that would hold him back. He’s already past Byrness.

He certainly seems to be motoring.

From Grough," As with recent endurance running challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, Damian Hall is having to keep his support team to a minimum and is also asking the public to turn out to greet him on the route.".

Thanks for the link. Pictures help to follow him to see how well he's going... he's going well!

Over 4 hours ahead of schedule approaching Middleton-in-Teesdale. Looks very comfortable on the video clips.

Just doing a bit of maths.
John Kelly's current record is 64 hours, 46 minutes, 23 seconds.
Damian's predicted splits bring him in at 64 hours, 04 minutes, giving him 42 minutes in hand if he starts to drop pace.

So he needs to be in Edale on Friday evening by 22.46 and a few seconds.

It's been a very wet day 'up North', hope the pathway down to Hawes isn't too slippy!

Obviously not a problem by his times!!

He is slacking a bit  :D  He is only 2 hours and 51 minutes ahead of schedule.

How anyone can keep going at that pace for so long is beyond me.

Beyond all "normal" people, all downhill after PYG! Only got c.90 miles to go, so shouldn't take him long. ;D

It is just so outside our comprehension. Perhaps if we were all fell runners it would make more sense, though still be amazing.

It is.

Interesting that he is eating no animal products during his run. It isn't affecting his performance. Although I didn't expect it to, my vegan diet hasn't slowed me down any. Getting older, fatter and more lazy has  ;)
