What Are They? and Where Am I?
« on: 23:12:41, 15/05/18 »

Righty-o folks.  Bit of fun.

One point for naming the prominent lump sticking up on the horizon.

Another point for naming the body of water bottom left.

And a top prize of a discarded empty banana skin if you can tell me where I was when I took the photo.

... over to you ...

Great Gable

Grasmere? It looks too small so I'm not sure   :-\

Alcock Tarn or maybe Nab Scar?

That's Harrison Stickle, Pavey Ark and Sergeant Man in the middle distance..... the lake is Rydal water and I think you're somewhere near Low Sweden bridge.  The angles look a bit odd though,  were your feet on the ground when you took the pic?

If you're not up in the air then maybe you're on Wansfell Pike and zooming in

Think Mel is on lower slopes of Heron Pike, maybe around Nab Scar?  Others as already stated, top end of Rydal water (although I think it's called Grasmere isn't it, it takes its name from Grasmere village or vice versa, Rydal water is the other lake) and Great Gable.

I got one right and that is Great Gable, I know that for certain. So the water it isn't Grasmere. It must be Rydal Water as Strider has said. Where Mel is I am still struggling with  ;D Now I think the fell at the front with the walls on, is the lower slopes of Red Pike and Strider is right again and Mel is on Wansfell somewhere.

We have a Banana Splits folks  :D   April and Strider have, between them, fathomed it out.  Well done both  O0

Great Gable.

Rydal Water (Grasmere was "just" visible in real life but the camera hasn't picked it up through the haze).

And yes, I was on Wansfell - though not Wansfell Pike.  I was stood on one of the lumps at the Baystones end of Wansfell.

... personally, I think the views were better from here than from Wansfell Pike itself.

Smashing little lumpy bumpy circuit from Troutbeck Church, in my humble opinion  :)

Good game this! Great Gable was obvious, but the lake foxed me.

Are April or Strider going to post a new puzzle?
