A wonderful Day On Mount Brandon
« on: 10:00:48, 26/07/15 »
;D A few days ago I was fortunate enough to visit one of my very favourite places, the Dingle Peninsula in west Kerry. Mount Brandon is I think my favourite mountain in Ireland and holds its own with any in the British Isles. Here is a link to my account and some pictures,

Great photos; climbed Brandon 5 years ago and the mist cleared at the summit, an amazing day. These photos bring back memories.

Great report and photos. I have only climbed Brandon the once, some 14 years ago on a short trip to the reeks and Dingle. Unfortunately the mist was down on the top but the views descending, out to sea and the Blaskets, were, as you point out, stunning. Wonderful place.

I love walking on high mountains looking down on the sea and Dingle is one of the few places outside scotland I have done this.

Great blog, love the valley with the paternoster lakes as you say its very special, quite fancy some of those Brandon ridges Faha, mystic etc and some in the reeks area.

Think I will pencil in another trip to ireland next summer.

The view from the road when all the paternoster lakes line up will live with me forever!!!!!!

Wonderful pics and write up as usual Stephen  O0 The photo captioned "The ridge toward Brandon Peak" reminds me of Blencathra in the Lakes  :)

Thanks for the offer would love to do some of those ridges, last time I visited the area we did all the 3000 footers in a week but I was leading a group so  restricted to main footpaths.

My partner H has relatives in Cork so she is nattering about visiting Ireland again so its only a matter of time before we come across.
