Love this area.  My favourite place. Spent many hours here through every season. Going to Hawes for 4 nights next week so may venture over Shunner Fell into Thwaite and Muker and check out the wild flowers in the meadows there

Ta folks. Forgot to say, this was a walk with forum member dittzy, who I got to buy me a slice of fruit cake at the Keld cafe.  ;D
The archaeology bit is crackpot hall.

Lots of foties Pleb.  Took a long time to get to the end!   ;D ;D Excellent pics of the waterfalls.  And I don't remember a kestrel?   A good walk.  6 miles on paper - but we wandered, so it was probably 7.  Swaledale is my favourite Dale.  (As you've heard me say about a hundred times. :D )
Thanks for the company.   O0 O0

Personally I prefer the high route over the Dale route -more industrial archaeology and a bit wilder.

Good memories of a geography field trip based in YHA Keld back in (mumblemumble)
Excellent pics, especially the river and water falls and the wild flower meadow looks amazing.
So many paths yet to walk, so little time left

Yes I did look at that but Swaledale is such a lovely valley and there's a great tea shop in Gunnerside  :)

It's the only place where I've taken the low route, even planning to go via Red Pike and Haystacks from Ennerdale so I'll get plenty of high points  O0

Excellent report and pics. Staying in Reeth for a week in 2 weeks time, planning on doing the Muker & Keld circuit. did it last year and returned over Kisdon, the descent wrecked my knees and stopped walking for the rest of the week  :( :(
