I walked from Stanmer to the coast today, a walk on the fringes of the South Downs to the east of Brighton, taking in hilly parkland, extensive woodlands with a beautiful display of bluebells, and the open rolling downland with fine views.  Hot and sunny    :)

Had a lovely little bimble (less than a good walk) from Ilam Country Park into Dovedale.

An amazing Victorian Gothic youth hostel at Ilam Hall, set in beautiful grounds, Swiss style houses and a stunning little church.

Not to mention the lambs  :)

Dovedale was a bit too busy for my liking, but still very enjoyable  O0

We'e off to Scotland for a 3 nighter
I can't wait to wear my kilt, swing my sporren,  sample the single malt,
And especially for ridge, show off pics of my trossachs  ;D

Leave only footprints, take only photographs, kill only time ...

Looking to get an early start in the morning, hope to get through Hayfield and end of Kinder Lane for 7:00 ish. Its then a 18 mile circuit around Kinder Scout. Walking from reservoir up to Sandy Hays, then anti clockwise getting to the Downfall before the "tourists" arrive. Finishing in the afternoon along the north edges, always prefer the north edges to the south for some reason, probably quieter. So looking for a good full days walk, hope you all enjoy your weekend
I never get lost, just don't always know where I am!

Rather be walking

Away from all the honey pots this weekend.  :)

Driving up to Ullswater, staying at Watermillock for a few weeks - Friars Crag saturday evening to photo lots of people walking with lights up onto Catbells Saturday night then starting the holiday with a low level wild camp on Little Mell Fell to see how the Labradors react to tent life and get a few decent sunrise photies

Local walks (yet again!) for me.  At least spring has sprung into a lush greenness and dried up the mud now.

A walk with my wife and daughter on Bodmin yesterday.  On my own on Dartmoor today.  They went to the gym. If there's any thing left in my legs IllI be out again tomorrow.  ;)

Tomorrow morning I catch the 08.15hrs ferry from Portsmouth to Caen and arrive at 15.00hrs. I'm then going to bus it to Falaise and camp there for the night. The following day I will hike to Pont d'Ouilly and camp there and the day after will go north on the GR36 through the Suisse Normande area via Thurry Harcourt to Caen again. If I'm lucky I'll have two, three, maybe even four restaurant meals, plus wine at each location. Just a short trip but I'm hopeful its going to be a good one.
