Just a quick thanks to Arenig for this little walk today - I'll let him post up the report when he gets home. In the meantime here are a few pictures. Also Mrs Arenig, and Mr & Mrs Cogstar & Mrs RP for their company.

Lovely day for it guys, superb pictures!

Chrome Hill and Parkhouse Hill Im saving for winter and the first snowfalls.

Weirdly (or perhaps not), I was thinking exactly the same thing!

I'd almost forgotten how impressive these two little peaks were, they are going to be really quite exciting when the freeze comes.

My brother introduced his new girlfriend to the delights of hillwalking a couple of weeks ago - straight in at the deep end by doing Tryfan North Ridge!
She lives in Portsmouth, and I don't think has ever done anything even resembling a mountain.
Anyway, she absolutely loved it (there can't be many that scramble up Tryfan with a full face of makeup on!).  They're both keen for another outdoor adventure, closer to home this time (for my bro and I anyway), and I immediately thought of Chrome and Parkhouse.
The snow, I figure could really add value to them, especially that little gulley on Parkhouse (though considerable care will be required).  I might even need my ice axe...

Ta for the replies - but thanks to Arenig for his late post and letting us accompany him and Wendy.

Spookily enough - we were discussing about coming back here when there is snow on the ground. I think it would be a great little meet up. We were thinking of planning a linear route taking in all the lumps and bumps, but I haven't really looked at it yet.

There is a nice little pinnacle at the base of Parkhouse Hill to climb up - bit slippy with wet limestone though, and would be interesting in the snow!

In the local tea shop (after the pub) - there is a postcard with a picture showing the Dragon's Back covered with snow on the east side and totally green on the west side - very inviting.

Sorry but I haven't prepared a trip report for this walk; I'll just let the photos do the talking.

BTW excellent pictures Pete really captured the day perfectly.

Cheers to Mr and Mrs RamblingPete and Mr and Mrs Cogstar for your company on this memorable walk. I was told that I would enjoy it and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The weather was pretty good as well considering what we've had just lately. Wendy thoroughly enjoyed the day as well and is already asking when will we be able to do it all again. Enjoy my pic’s from the day.

They were well worth waiting for Arenig, I did a very similar walk earlier in the year taking in Chrome Hill your pictures brought back some great memories and makes me want to do that walk again. They might not be the highest hills in the Peaks but they are very dramatic.

Thanks for sharing them.
