For me only ground coffee will do at home, a two-cup cafetierre is just right for my half-pint mug, made strong enough to stand the spoon up in and with three sweeteners added. Percol Intense Italiano was my favourite until that became unavailable, so now the next best is L'Or Classique. I only have one a day, mind, after breakfast.
On multiple-day walks I take a 35mm film pot filled with instant coffee, either Nescafe Blend 37 or L'Or Classique, they're both as horrible as each other (you can't compare the L'Or instant with the ground), especially in a plastic mug, but it's better than going without.
I used to carry a plastic teaspoon to measure two generous spoonsful but I left it out of my equipment when I realised that this was the only time I used it and I could drop the same amount onto my multipurpose plastic dessert spoon. So that's one little item less to lose, and three or four grammes less weight!
