Last Sunday witnessed my first clear day in the Lakes this year. I love a walk from my doorstep and visiting valleys/fells for the first time. I had done the Fairfield Horseshoe three years ago starting on Low Pike and finishing on Nab Scar. On this occasion I decided to take in Little Hart crag and High Hartsop Dodd as my first two peaks. I finished on Stone Arthur before descending into Grasmere. The route was Ambleside - Scandale valley - Little Hart crag -   High Hartsop Dodd - Dove Crag - Hart crag - Fairfield - Great Rigg -   Stone Arthur. Total distance was 19km taking just over 6 hours. Highlights were the snow capped peaks of the higher fells and the number of tarns and Lakes in view on the descent. I've split the photos across two reports. Second part to follow soon.

Great pics Henry.

A question about High Hartsop Dodd, as it is on my 'to do' list, can you walk up the end from Brothers Water?

Thanks adalard and Ridge :)  Ridge - I've never walked from Brothers water but believe the ascent can be done from there. Maybe this link may help: http://www.sharkeysdream.co.uk/PAGES/WALKS/20171008.html. O0

Yes Ridge, you can go up from brothers water although I went up from the car park in hardtop village no so long ago. https://aredeyeview.blogspot.co.uk/2018/01/hartsop-round-6-01-2018.html
