Croci starting to emerge here, spotted my first lambs yesterday, and heard a skylark.

When I went for the train yesterday morning it did feel very spring-like. Lots of birds singing, mild temperature and a bright morning despite some cloud.

Am about to do the same journey now and will be heading out into sideways sleet and snow, a gale and heavy mist. Several major roads near us closed too - A53, Cat-and-Fiddle, Snake Pass...

Don't count your swallows is the moral I guess - or whatever the spring equivalent is - cuckoos?

:P   Blow dried by the Polar Vortex 5000 deluxe!

Nice model, but I believe it needs a very long flex.

I thought the houses in the background didn't seem to be vernacular to these shores  ;D
And here's us lot whinging about a bit of snow.
Only a hill but all of life to me, up there between the sunset and the sea.

It certainly has not arrived here yet.
Snow flurries at the carpark on the Crimea this morning, so the fairy mild weather of the past few days has gone somewhere.
The snow is not settling like last week, but Spring is a long way from Snowdonia at the moment.

The ice has gone from the river Dee and the snow in the garden is now melting - but not gone yet.

*grin* Innominate, I wasn't half kidding about needing to believe in spring that day, though.  It was -32C.

I love reading these springy posts because we probably won't start greening up again until April.  Hard to tell these days.  Maybe earlier!
It absolutely blew my mind to see so many things flowering in December when I was in Malhamdale.  People must have wondered who the idiot was taking pictures of their front garden.  I may also have been clapping and giggling.

Gale force winds, snow showers and rain forecast today for the Lake District. Not Spring here as yet. We are having a late start, the wind is forecast to abate this afternoon.

Didn't feel like spring on the Kirkwall Parkrun this morning, to be honest. Quite vile. :o

Just back from a stunning 5 miles with the dog, along the local beach and clifftops. Sun shining, warm wind, Celandines and Coltsfoot coming out, didn't meet a  soul - all is good with the world. :)
