so much important stuff has been missing from the news recently
It is disappointing it wasn't on local tv, there were film cameras there.
Were you one of the swimmers, April?
I'm not a good swimmer. Obviously I would have been in there if I was a better swimmer

Thanks to the 100s who were there representing the 1000s that couldn't make it.
We were representing all the forum members, especially the ones like yourself who love the Lake District.
One of the volunteer marshalls who was standing by the lake thanked us very much for coming. I said to him "you are very welcome" and for some reason that I can't really explain I got very emotional. I think half of it was because he was perhaps in his seventies and must have been frozen. The wind and rain were worse near the lake and he must have been there for an hour at least when we walked by him. He must be a local resident and he really shouldn't have to be marshalling a protest march in awful weather. I suppose none of should be having to do it.
I didn't see it but a friend thought she saw Beefy and Squeaky on BBC northwest news
Squeaky had her full waterproof coat on with the legs, her overalls.
We saw one photographer taking shots of her, he musn't have realised she charges £100 per pic
