Post by: progressdll on 14:08:53, 26/07/17

Is there on the South West Coast Path (Exmouth to ... Sidmouth )

A accomodation where i don't need to walk the full 13 miles to sidmouth ?

Carrying my own gear makes it a long walk for that day

if possible, else i will need to complete the full 13 miles

Hi
I guess there are lots of B&Bs in Budleigh Salterton which is about half way between Exmouth and Sidmouth.  When we did the walk from Exmouth to Sidmouth in two stages (see http://www.greenlives.org.uk/Stage67.html (http://www.greenlives.org.uk/Stage67.html) and http://www.greelives.org.uk/Stage68.html (http://www.greelives.org.uk/Stage68.html)) we walked as far as Otterton and then caught a bus (No. 137) back to Exmouth where we were staying then made the reverse trip to Otterton next day, before walking on to Sidmouth. Given that local bus services have been decimated over recent years and it is 6 years since I did this walk you definitely would need to check this bus still exists!

It's a great bit of coast walk, very varied!

Best Wishes

JW

I walked the SWCP Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton and Budleigh Salterton to Sidmouth 7 weeks ago, both as circular walks. As has been said, there should be no shortage of accommodation in Budleigh Salterton.  The area is still relatively well served by buses, timetables are on line.

You could walk along the river Otter to Ottterton, under 2 miles from the river crossing at White Bridge on the SWCP, then back on the opposite side the next day. Lovely walk and you might get to see the beavers - 3 kits this year - or even otters that are often seen from the bridge in the village.

Stay at the Kings Arms

Just back from putting on "Hello, Dolly" in the Budleigh Salterton Public Hall. O0

There are many B&B's but only one hotel "The Long Range". Many B&Bs are off the net so you need to contact the Local Tourist Information Office - It's next door to the police station on Fore Street.

Now its August prices have risen considerably.
