Title: Exped Synmat Movement
Post by: mow1701 on 09:20:42, 10/09/19
I love the comfort and insulation the mat offers, however, what I don’t like is the way it slides around my groundsheet. Any ideas on how to reduce/stop it moving.

Go to Wilko or Robert Dyas and buy a small piece of anti-slip mat to put under your ground mat. You can also find it on eBay.
It's like a sort of rubberised mesh, for want of a better description, it weighs little, and it rolls up small to fit in you rucksack.

To save a few grammes I later I sprayed the underside of my Multimat with anti-slip treatment. While it is very  effective I do not wholly recommend this, for it has remained permanently slightly tacky.

I had the same problem with my Synmat. I solved it by apply dots of McNett SeamGrip in a grid pattern on both sides. Only very thin smears are required and it's stayed grippy for a couple of years already
