South west coast path
« on: 15:56:43, 04/02/14 »
Hope you can help. We are looking to start part of south west coast path in Minehead and will be leaving our vehicle in Minehead but are unsure of how we can make our way from Bude back to Minehead. Does anyone have any ideas please as we are hoping to do the walk in April. Many thanks

I think it is possible by bus but I only have the 2013 timetables to hand. The Stagecoach service 315 will take you from Bude to Barnstaple (about 2 hours 20 mins). 11:35-arrive at 13:58. Change. Then the Stagecoach service 21 (about 40 minutes) 14:05- arrive 14:46. Change. Then the service 300 (Filers or Quantock depending on the day of the week. About 2 hours ) 15:50-17.55 arrive Minehead. All free if you have a bus pass like me and only six and a half hours. Take your own sandwiches. There is a website and I think it is www.journeydevon.info .
I recently moved to Bideford and tomorrow I'm going to Exeter by bus (2 hours). Everyone thinks I'm mad but I want to try it once. At least the roads are clear at the moment. Tonight Cornwall is cut off from the rest of the country unless you travel by road.
Good luck
