I knew this was just the place for me when I came across the post...'Old farts on the Monte Blanc' ( or something similar.) Long time day walker with 2 LDW's under my belt. Now that I'm retired I've got more time to do long distance walks. Started with CtoC September 2019 and three more planned this year. Love to wild camp, smell the roses and take it at my pace with no stress. Also considering the Mont Blanc for 2021.

Welcome from Manchester :)
Plenty of retirees here and others approaching that great time. The year I retired we spent just shy of one third of the nights of the year in a tent on the hills and trails.

Welcome from Aberdeenshire. I have not retired yet, but probably will do in the next 5 years or so.

Thanks for the welcome. In the process of finding my way around the site. Confidant that there's lots of experienced folk that I can gather tips and inspiration from.
