Trip Report - Ladybower Reservoir and Lost Lad
« on: 19:52:27, 05/09/09 »
Yet another really fab day in the Peak District, this 10 miler organised by Radder, actually turned into a 13 miler and certainly tested my legs!  The climb up to Lost Lad was pretty tough going, but definitely well worth it as the views were stunning (and that's an understatement).

We all set off from Heatherdene Car Park at about 9:40 am, walked round Ladybower Reservoir with a coffee break before climbing up to Lost Lad, where 'some' made it up to the trig point.  We then continued along Derwent Edge, I think, stopping so Radder could do some boulder hopping (see pics) then all down hill to the pub for a pint, ending the walk at about 4pm.

I hope you are all on broadband, but just be thankful that out of the 161 photos, I'm only posting 59 :o  (might be one of you too Lisa :))

I'll try, though I'm very sorry as I can't remember everyone's name.

From left to right:

Mark (Radder), Ian (BatFink), (Longshanks), James (Theguyuk), (ImSparticus), Paul, me (StephB), James (Tower), Steve (gotmeheadshaved) and Chris (norfolkboy)

And hiding somewhere in the background was Lisa (Colliecorner)!

Hopefully, someone can fill in the blanks.  Soz again, but my memory's shocking!

Yeah, weather was OK, a bit overcast and very chilly/windy on top of Lost Lad

Another excellent day in the hills!  A challenging walk, great company and half decent pint at the end.

Great pics Steph, when I've downloaded mine I'll post any that don’t  have that fuzzy quality I specialise in.

I’m looking forward to Kinder from Hayfield in a couple of weeks.

Gah. I'm so jealous.

I'm enjoying what I'm doing at the moment, but I'd rather have been out there yesterday. Excellent photos all round and looks like a cracking day. Where did the extra three miles come into it?
