Title: BIG AGNUS
Post by: [email protected] on 08:31:27, 11/01/19
Anybody have any info if these tents are any good. Need one for 4 people wild camp in scotland april. The model i was looking at was the tumble 4. 3.8kg i know is a bit heavy but will split between us and also want to use it for weekend away with the wife and dog hence not going for the ultralight one.

I had a really good experience with the Big Agnes customer service.

I've not seen the particular tent you are looking at but I have been pleased with my BA tent.

Looks like a decent, practical tent, although I have no experience of them.

Just a thought - have you thought of going for two 2 man tents instead?

I've not seen that particular tent before and had to look it up, but my solo Big Agnes Copper Spur UL1 is superb and I'm very impressed with its quality.
A 4-person tent though - hmmm, the floor plan shows the occupants lying alternate ways (head-foot-head-foot) to utilize every inch of space, looks awful to me but I'm not the gregarious type!. I hope your lot are very friendly.

How many times will you want to use such a tent? Have a look at Naturehike, I'm sure you can buy a good copy of your suggestion for a 1/4 of the price, or buy 2 x 2 person tents, still a lot cheaper!

The only big agnus tent I've seen was a copper spur one,
Light, but looked rather flimsy, and it had a lot of mesh.
Not for me in lake district weather  O0

Thanks all. Nature hike don't do a four man although I do like the look of theirs. It's actually 3 and a dog. The rumble is more durable than the copper spur. I'll probably use it quite a lot. I can get it for 200 quid quick I thought was quite good. Although there was no footprint included the other option is mountain hardwear shifter 4 which I can get for 140. Both new?
