Edale - Mam Tor - Lose Hill Circuit (2-10-11)
« on: 21:46:55, 03/10/11 »
This small meet was somewhat hastily arranged but, it was greatly enjoyed and appreciated....especially by, Frankie and Daisy  ;)

Everything went according to plan and I collected Rich, Donna & Frankie from their home just before 8am and we headed over to Edale to meet Sleepy and Daisy.  Sleepy slept in (or dithered about a bit too much  :D ) so we had to wait a few minutes for him to arrive - please note that the coffee shop in Edale was closed and we were most disappointed, especially the person who had left the rainy North East at 5.30am in the pitch black dark!  :o ;D

However, we didn't have to wait more than a few minutes and, once everyone was ready, we all set out on our walk at about 9.15am.  The weather prospects were good for the day but, to be honest, it turned out to be mostly hot and humid - not my favourite conditions  ::) .

Anyway......on with the walk.

We set out from Edale and headed up towards Mam Tor summit.  From there, we followed the path along the range to Back Tor and then Lose Hill  (is there a cafe up here or something?  - So many people milling around, I was sure there was a BOGOF offer that I had missed the coupon for ::) ;D  - I was still dreaming about that coffee obviously lol  :D )  From Lose Hill, we descended from the heights and then followed the field and woodland paths beside the river to return along the Edale Valley, via Edale YHA and a pub, to our start point.

The route for the humans was about 11.2 miles but, for Frankie and Daisy - I think you can at least double that  :D ;D

A few photos from our day out....(OK then , a lot of photos!  :D )

This is Daisy and Frankie fell in love with her straight away, he never left her side and nibbled her floppy ears for 11.2 miles  :)  Yvonne, Frankie hasn't eaten his dinner today, i'm thinking he's love sick.

Lol - just as well he's a 'sheep dog' and not a sheep, otherwise he might have found out what she thought of him lol  :D ;D
