It was great to meet everyone yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk.

Will post some pics when I've managed to upload all 93 of them to the comp ;D

Regarding the distance, I don't always rely on the GPS Track but my GPS unit is kept in a Montane Atomic DT compression mesh bag, so it's outside and 'unshielded' all the time. We also went past Hollins Cross, almost to the foot of Back Tor and back, which should account for a quite a bit of difference.

Sometimes the GPS track is so erratic though so I essentially have to redraw it by hand based on what we did. You can tell on my reports if it's a red track then it's GPS, if it's blue I had to redraw it in Memory Map. So Blue would probably be more accurate generally.

As for car parking, in the summer months you'll often find the overflow car park by the train station is open. It's £4 a car and you deal with a genuine human being so no chance of getting ripped off. It's worth checking if this is open.

It looked like a great day out. Glad the weather held as the forecast was a bit well maybe it will maybe it won't.

These boots were made for walking so that's just what I'll do. After I've re-proofed them of course...

Many thanks to all for great company and thoughtful help when I needed it.  Had a great time.  The boys and I just did a slow short walk along teh Wirral Way today just to loosen up again.

Breathing distracted me from taking many pics and The Footman spoiled a few by jerking the lead at the wrong moment but see http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/ButlersKeeper/WeaklingsAtEdale for those i kept.

Thanks again, hope to get to Ladybower next weekend  O0

Looks like you all had a good time. Some great photo's in there. Wouldn't mind coming on one of these days out but little time between now and OZ. A great little place is edale and a good place to camp out. About the car parking, we have found if you go to the train station and pass through the car park to the 'staff', unofficial over flow, its free but tell everyone ;)

Well My Garmin etrex H  said 6.50 as we sat at the pub tables. and I forget to save it went back at the car so it has my whole trip home lol lol .

We didn't do the exact same trip as Dazza he went on towards Lose hill, we went down at the Hollins Cross Marker stone . His trip took the path to the left and we took you down through the farm that breed special eight legged cows.  ;) Hence the difference  between the two routes
