Nice set of pics, Pleb - I like those black-and-white sheep, not seen those before.
I always see more birds when I'm on a general walk than when I've been to a specific reserve. I do still visit them now and then but more often than not I come home disappointed. :(

If I had taken binoculours I may have done better, but its just extra weight, besides I didn't know when the rain was going to start, so wanted to get in with it.
-
Er - why did pics of Dragon's Den keep coming up between your photos :-\
Is it just me or did this happen to others?
-
Every so often I'd get an advert offering ad-free browsing (ironically enough) from Flickr if I chose to upgrade but that's all - and I could click past that with the on-screen arrow.

Nice pics pleb. The one of the water mint makes me want to sniff it. Whenever I see it I can't resist rubbing my fingers into the leaves and smelling them.
adalard - the sheep are Jacobs. They are said to be the oldest breed in the world.
Jac - I didn't see pics of Dragon's Den?

As you may be "bird experts" can you let me know what this bird is? I saw it up in Scotland earlier this year. I hope that the attachment works as it doesn't show on the preview.

Loved the photos of the sheep but all nice photos.

Ah, cheers for that info, DevonDave. I just looked the breed up online - an interesting history (which I suppose you'd expect given the age of the breed) and I can see how they'd have been brought over to Britain as an ornamental breed. The horned ones are very striking looking.
