I'm looking to buy a new light 2 person tent since I am starting to do more solo backpacking and my current tent is killing me. Buying from the states is the best for me for various reasons.

I've narrowed the choice down to the following four. I'm leaning away from the two REI offerings since they are a bit heavier. The Mountain Hard Wear LightPath looks nice but is not free-standing. The Meridian is, but then that is another 35 dollars. All these tents have good reviews on REI's site. Does anybody here have any advice on which to choose please?

The Mountain Hardware Sprite is the tent I just bought to replace my two person tent since I knew I was going to be solo. I also purchased it for $99 and its footprint for $21.

Good things

1. Price, yay!
2. It only has two poles, one medium one short so the weight is wonderful.
3. It has an area near your head for books and personal items you might be using while in the tent.
4. The rain cover is for a slightly larger area than the tent and will cover your backpack

Bad things
1. Although it is quick to set up the poles, you simply must put in the stakes. I hate staking, lots of times I'll sleep outdoors on the footprint to avoid setting up the tent and be able to look at the stars :) But I'm used to arid climate with very few mosquitos, no clue how it is in the UK?
2. Sitting up in the one person is impossible

The sale that REI was having for only 99 dollars ended this weekend I think though...
Normal price is 150.

Yes, the pound is worth twice the dollar right now :(

Another reason I have to camp as free as possible, eat the bare essentials and won't be in London very long! Anyone seeing me on the trail is welcome to buy this poor person a beer :)
