Derwent Watershed Walk
« on: 23:09:45, 12/06/08 »
I have got my eyes on the Derwent Watershed walk. Not the continuous 24 hour marathon you understand, which is surely madness, but a more "leisurely" 2 day walk with a wild camp at around half way.
I have covered most of the route over the years in a series of day walks and realise that this will be a tough outing, ( I enjoy a challenge).
I have the walk pencilled in for a weekend in mid to late September.
If anyone on the forum has done either version of the walk I would welcome your shared experiences.

I have both walked and run this route but this was about 25yrs ago s conditions will have changed by now.My strongest recollection is of a long bogtrot but it was great to finish, another popular bogtrot at the time was the Marsden-Edale route, another hard slog. There may be info on the High Peak or LDWA web sites.
It must be tea time by now

Like Pete, the last time I did this walk was 25 years ago, spread over two days with a bivvi on Margery Hill. From what I can remember it was quite tough, especially on the eastern side.
