Does anyone know where you can get something like our OS maps for parts of Iceland?

Very funny  ;)

Ordered one of these for the south-west corner http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BOUDRUA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 which should give us a few options to fit in with all the other places we want to go.

1:75,000 that's an odd scale. I've used the 1:100,000 maps for northern Sweden which aren't very detailed i.e. whole large 300m high crags not marked. Maybe the 1:75,000 have a better detail but still cover the large areas needed in such remote places.

This has maps for most major walking areas down to 1:25,000. I have tried to find them in the Icelandic book stores but can't find them in the ones I know.

Ferdakort Islands also do these which are pretty much the same ones with details for the popular tourist and hiking areas.

And topographical maps of most of the country at 1:50,000

Have fun it is a great country for walking - I used to live there.

Iceland 50K Topographic Survey Maps  are available from Stanfords. I believe they have shops in London and Bristol.
or Online at www.stanfords.co.uk
