Friday 3rd April 2009.
Distance - 11 miles
Weather- Misty at first then warm sunshine 14 c
After such a hard walk yesterday on bleaklow and still having stiff legs in the morning I decided to have a easier day today so went with a route in the White Peak from Hartington
The weather forcast was for sunshine today, but driving to Hartington it was very misty and looked like it could be set in for the day
By the time I descended into Biggin Dale the was mist was starting to lift
Another view of Biggin Dale
descending Biggin Dale I soon reached the junction with Wolfscote Dale
This route was a figure of eight so from the junction with Biggin Dale headed southwards following the River Dove all the way to Milldale.
The old packhorse bridge in Milldale
The lovely hamlet of Milldale
By now the sun was really warm as I made my only climb up to the village of Alstonfield and The George pub. so stopped of to have a quick pint outside with being such a nice day.
Typical White Peak scenery. Path from Alstonefield
I soon dropped back down to Wolfscote Dale which I followed all the way back to Hartington.

The dramatic last bit of Wolfscote Dale before the walk through Beresford Dale.
From Beresford Dale it was field walking back to Hartington ending a really enjoyable walk
