Mont Saint Michel Pilgrim route
« on: 20:58:06, 09/12/15 »
Does anyone have knowledge or experience of the old pilgrim routes to Mont Saint Michel?

I'm pondering a walking/camping trip probably next summer.

Being Portsmouth based I'm interested in starting from either Barfleur, Cherbourg or Caen - the local ferries make it so easy!

I'm aware of this french site:

Now I'll have to brush up on my French!

Remember reading a slightly comic account of the walk, will try to call the author to mind, also think he wrote an account of trying to follow the tour de France race route.

..and now remembered it was the famous pilgrimage across northern Spain to Santiago di Campostella, which goes back to the middle ages.  The guy did it with a donkey, well worth reading the book if you can trace it.
