An overnight visitor

Not the usual 8 legged kind in the bathtub - just this very pretty moth



It's a Swallowtailed Moth (surprisingly).  I've not seen anything like it in the UK before.  It only came in for a little bit of head banging (against the lights), and had left by morning.    :) :)

Gorgeous 8)  I occasionally get moths flying into my kitchen, some pretty....some not so.

Wow ..... great photos. You can see how it acquired the ermine name - very regal.
I just tend to help them back out again once they've fluttered into the house and don't look too closely. I'll give them the once over next time.

That close that the poor moth went cross eyed trying to keep you in focus  ;D
