Banff Canada
« on: 11:48:56, 09/02/17 »
Bit of a long shot but I would appreciate any info on the following. My wife & I will be in Banff for a few days this May and would appreciate any recommendations for a hotel. Would prefer a central one rather out in the sticks as my wife has walking difficulties.
I know there are lots on the booking sites but a personal recommendation goes a long way. Especially from members on this site!  Thanks in anticipation.

By coincidence I have a friend in Banff this very minute. His hotel looked spectacular, I will ask him.

He lives in Perth, Australia. It was 32 degrees when he left home and -24 when he arrived in Banff!

I've just heard back from him. It was the Fairmont, Banff Springs. Spectacular but expensive he said - it was a work trip so the price wasn't his concern! He said Banff was quite small and seemed pretty expensive all round. All about skiing at the moment but appears to be a great walking destination in the better months.

Hi Percy  -   thanks for the info. I came in today to find the wife had booked a Best Western hotel there. Don't think it will be as expensive as the Banff Springs.............your pal must have some job to be staying there work wise! We'll be there for 4 nights then onto Calgary.
