Buxton walk
« on: 08:25:54, 25/06/17 »
A few photos from yesterdays walk.
For anyone interested it was Buxton, Midshires way to Chelmorton, Limestone way to Millersdale, up Monks Dale, over to Wormhill, briefly the Pennine bridleway before heading through Tunstead Quarry and back to Buxton.

Deep Dale

I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with this information, wear a hard hat?

Not very scenic but a big employer

Nice route that...  O0  That church in King Sterndale is a real gem (I particularly like the little bell "tower") and Monks Dale is a favourite of mine, there's such a contrast between the open dale and the path that eventually follows the stream bed under all that tree cover.

I couldn't either but after a while they came up.  Although not very computer literate I guess that they are large files so try just waiting.

I can see them now, just crosses in a box before  O0

Great pics Ridge, I see you must be on your annual trip to the Peak District. I remember seeing that factory thing from the train when we went to Stanage Edge. It is astounding they would put such a thing in such a beautiful place but I guess that was before National Parks were thought of?

I believe any walk with beefy should have the same signage along the route  :D

Yep. But the quarry restrict the hours of blasting - and none at weekends. :)

Reminds me of a guy I knew years ago called Garfield Varter who was known to his friends as The Musical Farter.

And not without good reason.  :D

I despair, I post some pictures of a pleasant walk and within a couple of replies we are discussing Beefy's flatulence!
 ;)

Yes, 3 weeks this year so I am hoping to get out again next weekend if all is going well.

Thanks Tracey

It was very quite, I didn't meet another walker until going up Monks Dale.

I know the area a bit but none of the paths I walked, not that this stopped people asking directions as always happens to me.
