It is still going, it is reconised as a national trail. I am planning on doing the Cleveland Way in 2008. How many days did it take you ? 8)

Ha, yeah all talk no action at the moment. But i am starting to put together a walking plan for next year. It needs to include training as i want to give it my best shot.

I've done large parts of the coastal section of this walk, and would love to do the rest.  Clifftop walking in general is always an unforgettable experience.  I find it both dramatic and serene at the same time.

What I remember most about the area is the extent of erosion, it just seems to be relentless - the power of nature.  It was awe inspiring to see WWII pillboxes discarded on the beach like mammoth flotsam and jetsam, having tumbled down from the cliffs.  :o

hi ukm, i cant remember how long as i dont think we did it end to end, i was 12 ish and it was about 1980/81.

wife and i took our kids camping to whitby about 4 years ago and i can remember that the at the light house you walked infront of it (the sea side) now that has all eroded away and you have to go behind it.

i was chatting to my son yestaerday and he seems to be up for a good walk so thinking of arranging one for next year.

regards

steve
