That was a superb commentary. Loved the phrase "clickety-clack of Britain's railway tracks". And "alight" is a beaut of a word. Every single time I hear it, I assume it means "embark" and have nearly missed stops before now because of it.

Glad you like it.
I'm trying to get the feel of the story right, so that it is a trip report and a story.

Alight is funny because when I was a kid I thought alight meant the opposite. It sounds like a get-on not a get-off word.

Yes stayed the Night at the bothy. Bit of a packed night inside and a large party of school children camping outside.

Did we bump into each other ? Whos to say.
Left there bagged 3 munros and camped at white bridge, then on to Braemar. Experienced the only real bad weather of the trip for me.

We did bump into each other, that packed night in the bothy.
I camped, and you are right, the weather the next day was really cold and wet. But hey ho. It was a great craic.

I did a route from Lochailort a few weeks earlier ending at Montrose on 28th April. I had a severe snowstorm going over Jock's Road and thrice ended up in drifts up to my chest in 60 mph winds.

Going to do another one early April this year. Just finalised the route.

I always go early to avoid the TGO and get the mountains to myself.
