There have been some awesome photos in this thread and I've been wondering what to post.

For me, one of the best things when out walking has to be that feeling you get as the whole landscape opens out inviting you to walk through it...the sheer sense of open space.

That's fabulous, Al.  O0   People talk about "Big Skies" which is daft in a way, cos the sky is the sky, but your picture shows how wide and deep coastal landscapes can look - I love that sense of space invitingness too!

Working nightshift isn't great, but then again you usually get sunset and sunrise.

Sunrise for me is always a feeling of freshness.

Here's two from last week...night and day

Taken on 24th July 2011, while completing the National 3-peaks Challenge.

As i crested Hollow Stones, the sun poked it's head above Great End with dramatic effect and vibrant colours throughout most of the spectrum that the photo does not do service to.
Low patchy cloudy whisping around the mountains gave a wonderful feeling of height and calm.

I call it "Mornings Glory"

Can I add this one to the terrific selection we've seen so far.

View of the Kinder Plateau in the Derbyshire Peak District, taken near the junction of two paths in an area called Bridge-End Pasture above the Ladybower Reservoir. It was taken a few years agoon my first 15ml walk and for me it exemplifies the idea of wide open spaces.

Jimmy's recent TR on Buttermere round mentioned the ridge walk between Hopegill Head and Whiteside so I thought this shot would be appropriate:

The Ridge Walker.

Not sure if there's a word for the feeling but I'm sure we've all felt it  :)  Technicly, not the best of shots but I like it:

Just coming down from the top of mam tor along the ridge to lose hill, I don't know any of the people but it's just not possible to get a big picture like this without anyone in it at that time of day  :-\

Been a while since we were wearing our hearts on our sleeve on Willowisp's thread, so I thought I'd post this from the
Lago di Bolsena - I'd call it "total relaxation!"

It's as peaceful and undeveloped a place as you could find in Italy, the water is so clean you can reputedly drink it straight from the lake, and the swimming is gorgeous!  O0
