Hi everybody

We are a young couple, which moved from Switzerland to England last September and we love walking and hiking in the nature. We are living in Bedfordshire.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Have you been out walking much in the UK yet or are you waiting for hopefully better weather in the summer?

Hi and thank you for the welcome

We have some walking experience, like the Chiltern Hills, the Malverns, the Wessex Downs, at the coast in Norfolk etc. We don't care that much about the weather, because we're working outside anyway during the week. For us it's more important to walk in the nature. It's because I'm missing a bit the forrests  :-[

Welcome from the Sussex coast     :)

I'm missing a bit the forrests

The south east of England has a lot of woodland.  The Serpent Trail, much of which lies in West Sussex, goes through woodlands of the Wealden Greensand.

Welcome from Twickenham in SW London
Yes, it's unfortunate that England doesn't have much forest cover (although it is increasing, slowly). Another well-wooded trail not too far from you is the North Downs Way .  The section from around Gomshall to Westhumble goes through, or is close to, lots of ancient woodland.

Welcome. Try heading east.  Thetford Forest shouldn’t be too far for you from
Bedfordshire and further on still near the Suffolk coast is Rendlesham Forest (I’m from Suffolk).

Welcome from North Warwickshire

I live on the edge of the National Forest and walk a lot of their trails http://www.nationalforest.org/document/walks.php
Ironically the one thing the National Forest is missing is Forestland - no more trees than anywhere else less than many other places such as The New Forest https://www.thenewforest.co.uk/things-to-do/walking - which is a forest but isnt new ...
